Every luxury, and in particular superyacht charter is unique, exclusive and personal. Apart from complete privacy, service with a personal touch which most likely includes gourmet food, if not Michelin star levels of indulgence, you are also going to experience highest levels of service and tailored itineraries to fit with your preferences, expectations and plans.
When it comes to the best of times, Caribbean holiday season is difficult to beat. Everyone usually gets to enjoy summer vacation in Europe and splash around in the exquisite beaches of the Mediterranean, either in June and September or during the peak of the season when the school holidays last. That’s not necessarily the case with the Caribbean though. Access is more difficult, travel there is much more expensive and choice of yachts is smaller, more exclusive and therefore more expensive too.
Mega yachts and superyachts are in high demand, although luxury sailing catamarans have clearly won the race and are by now the most popular luxury yachts offered for private yacht charters in the Caribbean. Numerous such yachts are cruising the East Caribbean with a few also heading towards the West Caribbean. We can also arrange one way and long term charters en route such as BARBADOS – BOGOTTA, Colombia and even further afield to San Blas in Panama or through the Panama channel and onto the Galapagos on request.
It can be therefore said that lastminute superyacht charter plans are not the ideal way to get away, thus planning in advance and choosing your preferred luxury yacht well ahead of time is a better option. This in particular if you are keen on specific models, new launches or top of the range megayachts. The Christmas and NEW YEAR are often booked together as a packaged holiday, with minimum charter lasting 10 days, or owners avoiding to allow booking that may start on 25th December and finish on 1st or 2nd Jan, without this being aforementioned duration of at least 10 days, thus with the start being 24th and end around 3rd JANUARY. This slight difference in superyacht charter can mean tens of thousands of US$’s, Euros or GBP more, thus it is not insignificant.
In any case, if you are still looking to charter at the turn of 2024 into 2025, the boats are likely to be available, in particular for Thanksgiving in the BAHAMAS or the Virgin Islands of course or if you are looking for shorter period around Christmas or shorter period around the NEW YEAR or if you are one of the lucky few who can actually get away for longer, two week or more in January or early December.
In that case, this general overview of yachts available may be useful and I hope you will enjoy reading it. To start with the largest and most luxurious mega yachts, you can expect to find at least a few still available for major holidays. For example, 257ft AMARYLLIS is likely to consider charters in both the Bahamas or the Virgin islands with starting rate being 770,000 US$’s per week and peak rate 875,000 US$’s per week. Similarly impressive, the 239ft CORAL OCEAN is likely to offer her services to a family of up to 12 guests where she will charge up to 790,000 Eur per week during the Christmas and NEW YEAR weeks, but only 495,000 Eur in February, March or April and up to 22nd December. January rate is on the other hand set at 650,000 Eur with obligatory APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance) for expenses set at 30% of the charter fee and an additional 50,000 Eur deposit due. Her destinations are flexible and clients can request unique itineraries even this later in the year under circumstances.
The next on the list when it comes to largest ones is 213ft JOIA The Crown Jewel. Interestingly, she may not be available in the Caribbean, but only in Dubai and Indian Ocean, yet it’s worth mentioning her as a megayacht that has flexible itineraries and a choice of location on hand, especially for longer term yacht charters that may last from 3 weeks onward. One of the best value mega yachts, available for both the Thanksgiving and the New Year holidays in the Bahamas is exclusive ETERNITY, a 213ft or 65-metre CODECASA from 2010, with a major refit in 2021 which cruises at an impressive 14kn and charges between 390,000 and 420,000 US$’s per week. The most popular yachts in the Caribbean are however luxury catamarans in the 70-80ft range. This is where Sunreef 70 and Sunreef 80 or Lagoon 77 excel. Such boats are mostly booked, both for the Thanksgiving as well as the Christmas and the NEW YEAR yet some are still due to provide luxury transatlantic crossing yacht charter experience too and may open their calendars for the major holiday season in the Caribbean. Sunreef 80 eco (2024) which was just recently launched is likely to accept charters in the most popular area around Saint Martin and the St Barths where many mega yachts tend to spend Silvester or NEW YEAR. You have to hurry up though as bookings are taking place and a hold is going to be placed on her later today already.
All in all, a number of other luxury and superyachts are available for the major holiday season in the Caribbean. We therefore invite you to consider booking your East Caribbean or the Bahamas yacht charter for the major holiday season sooner, rather than later as other boats such as Wally 80, Southern Wind 100 and Oyster 125 (all sailing boats) are already going to be there. Luxury catamarans in the 50-67ft range are also readily available and a number of both sailing yachts and motor yachts in the 80-150ft range is greater than of those above 200ft in any case.
