Luxury sailing yacht EROS has a unique history. She was built as a schooner, a genuine classic beauty in England back in 1939. The order came from top of the establishment for the daughter and son-in-law of a British Lord. Soon after her launch, EROS was very soon commandeered by the Royal Navy to participate in the famous evacuation at Dunkirk as part of WW2 efforts. In late 1940’s she was purchased by the first man internationally known as a billionaire, Stavros Niarchos, who made her his own private floating palace and helping her become a well-known super sail yacht in the Mediterranean yachting community. Her present owners acquired her in 1992 with the latest, museum quality restoration, with no expenses spared completed only recently! During the restoration, the original hull and deck plans were removed allowing reparation or as appropriate replacement of parts of the steel structure. A total of 20,000 bronze bolts were replaced, or renewed, all used to fasten the planks to the steel. Furthermore, the piping, pumps, winches, spars, wiring, electronics and all systems on the yacht were also either replaced or where possible completely overhauled. And while her exterior makes her what she is, the interior is where the genuine connoisseurs of sailing will be at home. The original Art-Deco grandeur of a bygone era is visible throughout with varnished teak joinery, brass fittings and rich, elegant fabrics providing a homely, yet historical atmosphere. The classic nautical theme with suitable artwork plus sofas with specially chosen burgundy velvet hue compliment a first class, classic décor par excellence.

While she has been fitted with all the latest navigation, galley and engine room equipment, she is otherwise restored as she was built. With her original varnished teak joiner work and fittings she is a step back in time evoking the romance and beauty of the Art Deco era from whence she came.

Accommodation:
Luxury Sailing Yacht EROS can accommodate up to 8+1 guests in 4 luxuriously appointed en-suite cabins. The guests will have a total of 3 double and 1 twin cabins at their disposal, with the twin and one double also featuring additional 2 Pullman berths. The master suite is starboard and has a Queen size bed, en-suite and shower/Jacuzzi tub. Port forward cabin has a double bed, while port aft cabin has Twin upper and lower beds. One final cabin located starboard aft has a matrimonial lower bed and a twin upper bed. This set up is very flexible and enables all parties seeking a classic yacht charter with state-of-the-art facilities required for a genuine luxury crewed yacht charter experience and adventure filled, fully customized sailing vacation in the East Caribbean and most recently in NEW England. All cabins are en-suite and with their own individual air con and audio-video entertainment systems.

Super Yacht crew on board of Classic sailing yacht EROS:
A graduate at the University of California Medical Centre, Dr Bill Bodle, or captain Bill as he is known by the crew of EROS, is a highly experienced sailor who circumnavigated the world under sail, visited more than 50 countries on the way across all of the Pacific, Atlantic and the Caribbean and entertained heads of state and royalty. He is one of the most experienced sailors in the charter fleets worldwide and an award winning mariner, his work was featured in a number of high profile magazines thanks to his considerable reputation as a builder and restoration man of classic schooner yachts. Amongst other achievements, he is credited with stunning restorations of super sail yachts such as NORDLYS, GRACE, PANDA and now EROS. Bill gladly shares his experiences with all yacht charter guests during regular cocktail hours and aims to form lasting relationships with all who charter one of the museum quality yachts he captains.
The remaining crew on board include hard working engineer Wilson Willkom who moved to California from Philippines in 1999 before joining SY EROS and Hawaiian born Chef Joe Lovitt who previously worked as a chef to Food and Wine bar Vino Volo CEO and who is able to prepare unforgettable gourmet meals for you and your guests, taking any dietary requirements into consideration and preparing meals with only freshly sourced out food or caught fish. On top, there is also chief stewardess Susan Taylor whose parents chartered a yacht when she was a child and on which she later decided to work and the deckhand/bosun Ramon Linderman from Puerto Rico who recently joined the team in St Thomas. All have great sailing experiences behind them with a 5,000nm journey from San Francisco through the Panama channel and onto British Virgin Islands. Occasionally, the captains’ wife Grace also joins as additional or replacement crew. She has sailed across all the world’s oceans and is a 500 ton Master and 200 ton Master of Sail captain of the US Coastguard. A Paris-trained Cordon Blue chef with almost two decades of luxury crewed yacht charter experience behind her, she is a master of sails, the galley and operations on board of SY EROS like no other!

De-Luxe Classic Sailing Yacht EROS charter prices:
EROS super yacht charter prices start at 31,000 US$'s off-season, rise to 45,000 US$’s per week in low season, while high season prices are as high as 49,500 US$’s per week all inclusive under Caribbean terms. In some locations VAT can be charged on top and prices can be higher on special days such as NEW YEAR or during special events such as Antigua boat show or racing events such as the Buckets.

Luxury motor yacht EROS is fully air conditioned throughout.
This is a non-smoking vessel.
EROS´s experienced super yacht charter crew of up to 5 including the captain, have a separate head and shower and companionway.
Guests may not be allowed to bring pets on-board.
